Everything seems to have gone down the crapper lately. I'm jobless, schoolless, and pretty much friendless. Everyone's gone back to school, but that doesn't really matter since I only saw everyone once. The only people left live over a half-hour away, and I don't have the resources to see them.
I pretty much spend my days watching tv, looking after dogs and trying to get my hands to look less like I roasted them over a fire. I get to spend my nights listening to someone complain about all their little dramas and talk about how getting ready to go back to school is stresful. Then I have to pretend I'm sorry for them when all I want to do scream in their face.
I'd like to just tell them to suck it up. They think they have it so bad with their ex drama and roommate drama, but I'd give anything just to have a face-to-face conversation with anyone. But alas, anytime I ever say what I think to that person we get into agruements and I just finally got them talking to me again. I can't afford to send this relationship down the crapper.
(Sorry for the sunshined filled post. Sadly, there will probably be more to come.)

Ugg. Woke up this morning with a sore throat and runny nose. Always a nice thing to happen during finals week. On top of that, I'm exhausted and my neck is still killing me. If I came off as a bitch today, I apologize but you poked that which ought not to be poked. I did what I had to do, and I will continue to do so. If that's problem, I'm sorry, but get over it. I think I deserve to be a little selfish once a year, seeing as I let people step all over me for the rest of the time. I'm not asking you to be on my side, and it's okay if you hate me for it. I'm already used to that. But just for once, could someone think of my feelings? Just because I don't always show them doesn't mean I don't have them. I get angry and frustrated just like you, and there are times when I don't want to talk to anybody. But I do. I've spent most of my life in silence, so I understand the importance of words. Even if they're hateful, or if they judge me, I still want to hear them.(P.s. If you understood none of this, sorry for the long nonsensical post.)

Off to ACEN tomorrow~ Managed to get everything but stuff I need to go to class tomorrow packed. Before I head off to fuck yeah fun time though, I have a shit load of stuff to do for school. Need to write a psychology paper and try to type(or just copy) those definitions. That, and sit through a two hour math review for the final. I just hope I don't fall asleep again. Anyways, I'll try to post with an update from the con(not that anyone actually reads this...). If you happen to be going, look for the Grell(Kuroshitsuji) with safety scissors~

I'm so tired. We started the garage sale at 8 this morning. There was a guy already there as we were putting stuff out. We had a pretty good flow of customers until about 2. Between 2 and 4 we only got one customer. In all we did pretty good. We made about a hundred bucks or so, and we're doing it again tomorrow. I'm hoping they don't need my help too much though(and that we don't open that early). If you want to save my sanity tomorrow feel free to call the house phone.

Wow an update. I haven't posted in a while because I don't really have anything to talk about. Nothing has happened really since my last post. The only major thing would be my grandpa leaving. I have been surprisingly busy this summer though. First Kay came up from Florida and I spent a week with her, Ivy, and Jackie. Then it was going to graduation parties and such. I spent a lot of time over at Jackie's too. She lives on a farm, so it's always fun going to her house. One of these days I'm gonna try to get on one of the horses. Nothing has happened in the past week or so though, but we're having a garage sale today so we can sell some of the crap we don't need. That should go over real well with the dogs barking all day*sarcasm*. Then I have to pick my classes at orientation on Monday. I wish it could just be fall already...

With three minutes to the end of Gurren Lagann, I can easily say this has been the best series is all my years of anime watching. Thank you Gainax.
(Those that get the heading, I love you~)
EPIC
My mother suddenly decided to let me keep dying my hair red. She says it looks better(so does my father). But it has to be a darker red this time. I'm glad cause I like the way it looks, and I'm sick of looking at blonde roots.
In other news: I hate wired bras.

I have nothing else to do while I wait for my episode of Romeo x Juliet to finish, so I figured I would update my flist on where I've been lately.
Pretty much since I went to the pool with Plex-tachi, I've been sick. First it was a flu-ish thing, now it's my ear. I woke up about two, three days ago with my ear all red, closed, and hurty. I don't often get ear infections, but when I do I get them bad. The drops from last time are helping so I'm keeping with that because I really don't want to go the doctor.
What that has to do with where I've been? Nothing for most people, but for me, when I'm sick all I want to do is sleep and watch anime. Rinse and repeat. So communication programs probably won't be up until my ear is better.
P.S.
Dear you know who,
Watch Romeo x Juliet!(Come on, Juliet's got a sword and there flying ponies, what's more to want :D)

This entry is really only about one thing:Saiunkoku Monogatari. I've asked some of you to watch it before, but I realized that I never really described what it was about, so I'm going to try to do so here.
When it comes to Saiunkoku, it's an anime/manga that's hard to describe. I could simply put descriptions from animeinfo, and such, but they don't seem to sum up what the series is really about. So I turned to other fans to help me describe this hard to describe series.
Saiunkoku Monotogari is an anime based on a novel series set in a fictional country that resembles Fantasy Imperial China. It has a large caste of characters and mainly follows the shifting politics of the imperial court. The main character is Shuurei, a poor young woman from a noble family who struggles to become her country's first female civil servant. Even though she's the main character, you learn a lot about the other characters, because all of them have backstories and they're all sort of the main characters of their own stories. Though some of the things that happened in the past were extremely grim, overall it's a lighthearted series with plenty of jokes. There's conspiracies and long-lost princes and ex-assassins and bandits and beautiful men with amazing sword skills and stuff like that..
sub_divided.
Saiunkoku is an anime version of a lot of Chinese ancient historical fiction dramas. :P
Basically the story is how to be a better person. Or learn how to govern. It has some "Art of War" elements in it too (It's a book about how to win battles) and Niccolò Machiavelli's "The Prince" except not as so.... negative :P
Basically, i'd compare it more to "how to be a good teacher" type like GTO. the theme is more similar in my opinion (though GTO's appeal is more extreme XD)
I'd say it's not for someone who's going to watch it for hilarious laughs and tons of action though.
I'd also say that Saiunkoku is a drama yes, but very refreshing, and not frustrating. Also if your friends are seiyuu fanatics, just show them the seiyuu list, it should get them at least be interested.
Please do NOT compare it with Fushigi Yuugi T.T Worse idea ever.

In ancient China, you have a well known family, who has fallen on hard times, where the only child, a young teenaged girl works hard to help her family, and dreams of but one thing, becoming a civil servant. The only problem is, women aren't allowed to be civil servants. But that changes as circumstances places her in direct proximity to the Emperor, who has been neglecting his duties.
So the main character is a heroine, who isn't annoying, but works hard towards the betterment of the people she serves. She's no warrior, has no speciality abilities, she just pits her mind against the situation.
The story is itself a josei, a type of shoujo story intended for older women, not meant for a teenaged audience..
wmchichiri.
I sometimes describe it to my literature-inclined friends as being rather like a Jane Austen novel, in that it has a plucky heroine of high position but little wealth, and contains a lot of intrigue and complex relationships. I suspect the romantic storyline will also prove to be Austen-esque, but it needs more time to develop before I can be sure.

The story, which takes place in the fictional medieval empire of Saiunkoku, follows the adventures of Shuurei Kou, a descendent of a noble family that has fallen on hard times. Her father serves as librarian in the Imperial palace, a post which offers prestige and respect but little compensation. Shuurei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women. Shuurei's plans come to an abrupt halt when the Emperor's Grand Advisor makes a startling offer: join the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor's consort, and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. If she succeeds, the financial reward will be great. The story details Shuurei's growing relationships with the Emperor and other members of the court, the intrigues that surround imperial politics, and Shuurei's commitment to better herself and her country..

I think the best thing about this series is the characters. They're realistic. The main character has flaws that she strives to overcome. She has a dream that she works towards. She doesn't have a fairy in her pocket helping her do this, she just works really hard. She learns from her experiences, and keeps going. The other characters are just as well developed. Another great thing is the plot. Everything is interwoven. There are no toss away characters and plots. Every action has a reason that you have to wait and see. While there are serious aspects are the story, there are times when it gets CRACKY.(Turnips.)
After all this, I really hope you want to watch this anime. If it's a matter of laziness, I've got you covered. I've gone ahead and uploaded the first episode to sendspace for you, and will gladly upload the rest.

Birthday :D I'm now legal in the US~(I was legal long ago in Canada and Japan.)No party is happening until the 10, but when your birthday is the day after Halloween, that's ok. So, have you noticed something different? Yes! It is the change of teh layout~ My old(but permanent) love, Bleach! The only thing I don't like about think layout is that Rukia isn't upfront.*Rukia love* Other than that, it's good.
Speaking of anime/manga, my first icon post was made at
fallwithyouicon. Go check it out and tell me what you think. I think I've got a couple good ones in there, but I need an outsiders opinion. I'm also looking for a better layout for there, but if I don't find one it I'll have to make it myself. To sum up this post : it's my birthday and go look at my icons.

Tablet=win. At first it was a little hard to use, and it took longer to color than a mouse, but once I got used to it, I was speeding through. Now if only my dvd drive would open so I could install photoshop.
I've been thinking about changing my layout for a bit. I love this one, but with the slow release of KKM episodes, my interest has dwindled. Maybe I'll put it up on my icon community(which I will be posting to soon). Opinions?

While looking through my Fruit Baskets scans, I found this. Kakeru:"I'm going to go change, nobody peak!" Yuki:"What are you the crane of repaying gratitude? Hurry up!" This line makes no sense if you aren't familiar with japanese fairy-tales. The japanese fairy-tale of the repaying crane to be specific.Tsuru no on-gaeshi. On-gaeshi is a word that doesn't quite translate, but the closest approximation would be 'to return a favor'. In the fairytale, a crane is trapped by a hunter, but the hunter feels pity for it, and lets it go. Some days later, he is visited by a beautiful woman, they eventually marry, but he is poor, and has no money to support his new wife. She then agrees to weave a lovely cloth which he can sell to make money, but with the stipulation that he is never to see her weaving. She is actually the crane that he trapped, and she weaves her feathers into an exquisite cloth that fetches a lot of money. The hunter takes the beautiful fabric to town, makes good money and they come to live in comfort. But little by little he succumbs to greed and pushes his wife to produce more and more. And at one point he breaks his promise and looks in at her weaving and to his surprise, she is not a woman at all, but a crane. With the last fabric in her hands, she says to him, メyou have seen my true form so I can stay with you no longer and she flies away, leaving him crying. After this, the lines make perfect sense, and the joke is understood.
